- Adrian McConnell is founding member and Chief Executive of Safety Health Environment (SHE) and is responsible for the operational, strategic, and policy activities of the organisation.
- With twenty years of experience in policy and politics, Adrian worked in Brussels and Westminster, as researcher to an MEP and MP respectively, before going on to manage the All-Party Parliamentary Carbon Monoxide Group.
- Since 2013 he has managed the UK-based grant giving research charity The Gas Safety Trust. Adrian was also involved in the creation of, and became an advisor to, the International Carbon Monoxide Research Network (ICORN) in 2016.
- Outside of work he enjoys listening to scratchy old soul records and going to the beach with his daughters.
Isabella is an independent consultant with over 20 years’ experience on the health effects associated with environmental hazards in the indoor and outdoor environment. She is a Member of the All Party Parliamentary Carbon Monoxide Group’s Stakeholder Advisory Group and Forum, Chair of its Medical and Healthcare Professionals’ Sub-Group, and Co-Chair of its Science and Technology Sub-Group; Committee Member of the UK Indoor Environments Group and a member of the British Toxicology Society and Royal Society of Biology.
Previously, Isabella was a member of the Public Health England (PHE) Toxicology Unit at Imperial College, London, where she supported the Air Pollution and Climate Change Group within PHE. She was responsible for: the development, implementation and support of health-based policies for government departments; leading the scientific work on indoor air pollution and creating and implementing the strategic approach to the protection of public health from the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning. Isabella also provided scientific Secretariat support to the Government’s Expert Committee on the Medial Effects of Air Pollutants (COMEAP). Prior to this, Isabella worked with the pharmaceutical industry on the development and delivery of therapeutics for respiratory and neurological conditions.
A scientist by training, Isabella has been a contributing author to numerous Government and expert committee reports on the health effects of air pollutants and climate change and has published papers and book chapters on the same topics
